Located about 20 miles northeast of Boise, it is a terrific choice for a life with a slower pace with easy access to all that they big city has to offer. Star is a city with a rich history. Early settlers were drawn to the fertile land along the Boise River and it was also a stop on one of the branches of the Oregon Trail. It has been an important location for farming and a place that has long been welcoming to travelers.When the first schoolhouse was built in the 1870’s, a star was nailed to the front door. Over time, travelers and miners knew that when they got to the building with a star, they would be able to find lodging for the night in the town. As the years went by, the town began known as Star.
Star Real Estate Offers Lots of Ways to Have Fun and Relax
Today, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors, attend community events, and participate in recreational activities. Children and adults who live in Star real estate can find a variety of opportunities to get involved in recreational activities. There are soccer and other sports leagues, yoga, gardening classes, safety classes, and much more. Families enjoy spending time at the parks in town, including Blake Haven Park, Hunters Creek Sport Complex, and Westpointe Park. The Star Riverwalk is also a great place to get some fresh air. Bring a picnic, go for a walk, and throw your line into the river to try to catch some fish.
There is always something to do near any Star home. Visit the Star Branch Library or join the Star Lions Club. Seniors are invited to spend time at the Star Senior Center and all residents are invited to volunteer or help support the Star Outreach Food Bank. The Star Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Committee strive to support local businesses. Children in town attend Star Elementary School and Star Middle School in their younger years and then travel to Eagle High School in Eagle for high school.
